Free Mojtaba and Arash Day

February 22, 2005 at 9:44 am (Announcements, Webpage)

It’s the Committee to Protect Bloggers’ Free Mojtaba and Arash Day. Mojtaba and Arash are two bloggers who are imprisoned in Iran for exercising free speech. I read this news article and figured it was my civic duty to post a link on my blog.

Another Entry About Sleep

February 22, 2005 at 9:41 am (Journal Entries)

Well, here’s another entry about my interesting (or not so interesting) sleep patterns. Whereas the last posts have been predominately concerned with my sleeping in, this morning I actually woke up an hour early. That’s right, I went to bed last night a little after midnight and woke up this morning at 5:30am… of course I didn’t actually get up, but I did roll over and look at the clock.

What is Love?

February 17, 2005 at 9:33 am (Journal Entries, Musings, Polls)

I’ve been contemplating this thought recently and trying to discern whether love is something that was invented in Hollywood, or whether love is an actual, real emotion. I personally believe that love is a real, tangible emotion, but I still have so many questions about the abstract idea of love. Is love really the overpowering emotion that the media portrays it as? Is there love at first site or is love something that builds over time (or both)? Is love a cause or an effect (do you go crazy about someone because you love them, or do you love them because you’re crazy about them)? Is love a choice or is it happenstance?

I’ve re-enabled comments, so it would be great to get a discussion going, let me know what you think.

February 16th, 2005

February 17, 2005 at 9:19 am (Journal Entries)

At first I was perplexed, but quickly realized that it was my supervisor calling me to see where I was. I didn’t even need to speak to her as I pieced this together and merely muttered, “Tell them I’m on my way.” It was the good type of sleeping in because I got an extra 2 hours of sleep, but it was the bad type of sleeping in because I was an hour late to work.

Sleeping In and Other Updates

February 15, 2005 at 10:18 am (Christian Walk, Journal Entries)

I thought I should include some other updates about what’s been going on in my life too.

I had a wonderful morning this morning. Aside from the wonderful events of last night still vividly present in my memory, I managed to sleep in by an hour. On most mornings, this would be a catastrophe, but this morning it actually worked out quite well. Here are the reasons it worked out so well:

Valentine’s Day

February 15, 2005 at 9:36 am (Journal Entries)

I just had the most wonderful Valentine’s Day ever! It was marvelous: not only did I get to spend it with one of my favorite people, but it also gave me the opportunity to decorate my apartment for the event. I was so impressed with myself, so impressed with my date, and so impressed with the evening as a whole. God blessed us so much!
